We collect only the information needed to provide and support EDUNEST:

• School and administrator data: school name, address, contact person name, email, phone number, and billing information.
• Teacher and staff data: name, email, phone, assigned classes and subjects, attendance and grading inputs.
• Student data: name, class/section, roll number, attendance records, grades, homework submissions, and bus-route information.
• Parent data: name, phone, email, and their linked children.
• Demo request data: school name, contact name, email, phone, number of students, and optional message.
• Usage and log data: app activity logs, device/browser type, IP address, and error reports used to keep the service secure and reliable.

We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for school operations, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without school-authorised consent.

We use collected data to:

• Provide live bus tracking, AI attendance, fee management, homework, notices, and parent notifications.
• Send WhatsApp and email messages requested by the school, such as attendance alerts, fee reminders, emergency broadcasts, and demo confirmations.
• Maintain account security, troubleshoot issues, and improve the platform.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to support requests.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use school, parent, teacher, or student data for advertising unrelated to EDUNEST services.

EDUNEST uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and secure your session. We currently do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this section and, where required, obtain consent.

We rely on a small number of service providers to host and operate EDUNEST:

• Lovable Cloud — cloud hosting, database, authentication, and backend infrastructure.
• Twilio — delivery of WhatsApp messages for notifications and emergency alerts.
• Email service provider — delivery of transactional emails such as demo confirmations and auth messages from notify.edunestapp.co.in.

Each subprocessor is contractually bound to use data only for the purpose of providing services to EDUNEST and to maintain appropriate security controls.

We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Current retention periods are:

• Active school accounts: retained while the account is active.
• Demo requests: retained for up to 90 days, then deleted unless converted to an active school account.
• Deleted accounts: school data is removed within 30 days of account deletion, subject to any legal retention requirement.
• Security and audit logs: retained for up to 1 year to support security investigations and compliance.

Schools and their users can request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting us. A school administrator may also delete or export data from within the EDUNEST admin panel where the feature is enabled.

To make a privacy request, email us at officialedunest@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may ask you to verify your identity or authority before acting.

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encrypted data in transit, row-level access controls in the database, role-based permissions for school staff, and secure authentication. Lovable Cloud provides the underlying infrastructure and platform security controls for EDUNEST.

Security is a shared responsibility: schools are responsible for managing their own users, granting appropriate roles, and promptly removing access for departed staff. We recommend using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication where available.

We may update this Privacy Policy as EDUNEST evolves. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify school administrators through the app or by email.
